A More Intentional Approach to Floral Design

EcoFloral creates reusable floral mechanics and purpose-built vessels designed for modern foam-free floristry.

Designed in Charlottesville, Virginia, each EcoFloral system is developed around a simple idea: give florists the structure they need without taking away the natural movement that makes flowers beautiful.

Our signature double-layer mechanic supports stems at two different points, helping provide greater control over placement and angle while allowing designers to work without conventional floral foam. The system is being developed alongside purpose-built compotes and low bowls so the vessel and mechanic function together as one considered floral tool.

Designed for Reuse

Sustainability at EcoFloral begins with reuse.

Rather than designing around single-use mechanics, EcoFloral products are intended to be cleaned, stored, and used repeatedly across arrangements and events. Our goal is to create durable floral tools that reduce reliance on disposable materials while remaining beautiful enough to be part of the finished design.

Why We Use PHA

EcoFloral products are made with genPHA™ 3D Filament from EcoGenesis Biopolymers, a U.S.-based materials company developing PHA biopolymers for additive manufacturing.

PHA is a class of biopolymers produced through biological processes rather than conventional petrochemical plastic production. EcoGenesis describes its genPHA™ filament as a biopolymer compound made from natural materials and designed to biodegrade without leaving persistent microplastics. The manufacturer also states that genPHA™ is made in compliance with ASTM D6691 and TÜV Austria standards relating to marine biodegradability, ecotoxicity, and fragmentation.

We selected PHA because its material story complements the way we believe floral products should be designed: useful for a long time first, with a more thoughtful material choice behind them.

EcoFloral's first priority is therefore not disposability — it is creating products worth keeping and using again.

Designed and Made in Virginia

EcoFloral products are designed, tested, and produced in small batches in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Every dimension, opening, locking interface, and support layer is refined through repeated prototyping and real floral use, with the goal of creating tools that balance function, natural movement, durability, and modern floral aesthetics.
